While talking to Jeff S. one day about his truck and how he flared his bedsides he sent me an email. It was very descriptive and informative. If you want to learn how to flare the bedsides email me and ask me to forward you the email he sent me. Here are some pics that should give you the basic idea on what it should and will look like.
The top plate is held in with rivets and the new braces are electrical conduit. I am going to get some bedliner spray in there soon. All i used to cut the sheetmetal was a jig saw with a thin metal blade on it. To get the rear part of the bedside to flare well too, you need to cut a seam near the tailgate on the inside of the fender. That should do it. Email me for the info.

Here is a pic after I sprayed it with some bed liner.

Here is the device I used to spread the bedsides. All the parts are available at Home Depot. Just some 3/4 inch nuts, washers, and a threaded rod. A piece of angle iron and some pipe slightly larger than the threaded rod. I welded a piece of the angle iron to the nut and the other to the pipe. Here you go.
